The Laundry

The Laundry collects recyclables from 1,300 SMEs in central London. With no minimum collection amount and a fixed price per bag even the smallest company can use their service. www.bprlaundry.co.uk
Set up by BioRegional in partnership with London Recycling in 2003 The Laundry’s aim was to make recycling easy for SMEs in central London and to bring down the environmental impact of office paper use. In fact a study carried out by Surrey University showed that the ecological footprint of the local paper loop is reduced by 92% compared to imported virgin paper. The loop works by offices sending their waste paper to a paper recycling mill in South East England and then buying back the recycled paper.
In 2009 The Laundry became a stand alone company and in September 2010 became part of BPR Group, a family of great environmental companies including Paper Round for office recycling and Carbon Smart a consultancy. This most recent change will allow the newly christened “BPR Laundry” to benefit from the support of a larger company while maintaining its bold branding and high standard of customer service.
