Environmental benefits
Taking part in all three aspects of the Local Paper for London scheme leads to significant benefits for the environment.
- The ecological footprint of local paper is just 14% of imported virgin paper.
- Reduction in the amount of waste requiring landfill and incineration.
- Helping protect biodiversity by reducing our reliance on the world's forests for timber used to make paper.
- Reduction in the amount of fossil fuels used for the transportation of wood pulp and paper. (The waste paper used to produce Evolve has only travelled 73 miles on average, as opposed to the wood and pulp for an equivalent paper which as travelled 1400 miles).
- Most of the wood consumed in Indonesian pulp mills is still derived from clear cutting ancient rainforest - some of which still makes its way to the UK markets. (WWF 2000)
- Evolve paper is made without using environmentally harmful chemicals used in some other production methods.

2. Buy Back
Buy recycled and you can get your own back!
It is important, not only to recycle your waste paper, but also to close the loop by buying paper made from your recycled waste. This is because there needs to be a stable market for recycled products so that it is economically viable to collect and recycle the waste. So the more people who buy recycled products – the cheaper it becomes to get your waste recycled.
EVOLVE is the brand of office paper that closes the loop in the Local Paper for London cycle.
Evolve is made locally at a mill in Kent by M-Real from 100% genuine waste collected from offices in the South East.
Why make EVOLVE your first choice?
Evolve is a high quality, bright white smooth office paper which is available in two types - Office or Business depending on your needs. It is guaranteed on printer and copiers and is one of the few recycled papers that is guaranteed to last over 100 years if archived.
