BedZED Tours
Overview
For those who would like a more in depth introduction to BedZED, we offer guided tours, led by a member of staff from the BioRegional, the BedZED co-developers and sustainability consultants.
BedZED tour details
Tour length: 1.5 to 2 hours (depending on the number of questions).
When: Tours are held on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
Each tour includes time spent walking around the BedZED site, visiting the show home and viewing the exhibition centre. We look at the green lifestyles strategies at BedZED; how we have reduced waste, transport emissions and the ecological footprint of food consumption. We also look at the energy and water strategies; how energy and water consumption have been reduced and how we generate energy on site, and collect and recycle water.
Tours cost £25 per person, or £20 per person for students and charity employees. Question and answer sessions can also be arranged with an architect from ZEDfactory, at an additional £8 per person.
The cost of the tour also includes a BedZED guide and light refreshments (Fairtrade tea & coffee and organic biscuits).
Booking
Our tours are typically aimed at industry professionals, students and others who are interested in sustainable lifestyles.
Please note there is a maximum group size of 17 on any one tour. However if you have a larger group we can run two tours concurrently. The minimum age for the BedZED tour is 18.
If you aren't fluent in English, please contact us to discuss a tour that can be translated, whether amongst friends/colleagues or with a professional translator.
