FREE event - Green Deal and construction waste

12.01.12

SMEs and NGOs involved in construction and architecture are invited to a FREE training day (24th January 2012 in Brighton) to find out about opportunities from the government’s new Green Deal which will help finance energy efficiency improvements on buildings. The day will also look into how you can reduce construction waste on single property projects down to just one skip and enjoy reduced waste costs, and much more.

Joanna Marshall-Cook
, an energy expert at BioRegional, will unpack the government’s new Green Deal, set to launch in the Autumn.  The session will include a 67 home case study from the London Borough of Sutton and look at the skills needed to carry out energy retrofits. The afternoon will explore new enterprise ideas and opportunities in detail.

We have now confirmed that Duncan Baker Brown of BBM-Architects will join the day to share how his practice has recently completed a whole house refurbishment with less than one skip of waste. Find out how to manage site waste on a small site – and take on our ‘One Skip Challenge’. This case study is particularly timely for Brighton & Hove organisations as Site Waste Management Plans are now being enforced by the Council.
