BioRegional welcomes Sonoma’s County Supervisor to the COP15
Yesterday Greg Searle (BioRegional’s North American Director) and I were at Copenhagen's City Hall to speak with Valerie Brown, the County Supervisor for Sonoma, California Chairperson of the National Association of Countries and a board member of ICLEI.
Greg welcomed Valerie to the COP15, noting that BioRegional has been working hard at the COP15 to highlight the significant GHG reduction leadership of Sonoma County projects, including America’s first official One Planet Community - Sonoma Mountain Village.
City Hall has been ‘base camp’ for all mayors visiting Copenhagen to participate in the COP15. At the time of our meeting with Valerie there was also an official mayoral side event at the Bella Centre where mayors publicly presented examples of their sustainable initiatives to world leaders, offering further inputs as to the measures they felt are needed to reach a fair and ambitious climate deal.
