Your planet needs you! We all need to put pressure on world leaders today
Dear BioRegional friends,
The climate treaty talks are unraveling and there are really only 24 hours to turn it around.
As I said in our blog this morning I heard for myself in the COP15 plenary last night that there is determination and willingness by the overwhelming majority of the 192 countries to negotiate and get an agreement by tomorrow night. Even though they know it will be tough to do.
You can do your bit by making a fuss and putting pressure on your government today.
Yvo de Boer, the head of UNFCC said on CNN this morning that the world leaders need the support of the people for this. 130 of them will be in Copenhagen today or tomorrow.
Please do your bit and use whatever channels you have. You can sign Avaaz's petition which also makes it easy to e-mail all your contacts. Or go to 350.org’s handy website where you can get the phone numbers for government departments in your country and give them a ring! I found it was leave a message so you might like to look for other e-mails or message channels.
Thank you.
